KANSAS CITY, MO (December 29, 2008) - A 135,000-square-foot Lowe’s Home Improvement store opened Friday, December 26 in the Blue Ridge Crossing Shopping Center, its leasing firm LANE4 Property Group announced last Tuesday.
Located at Interstate 70 and U.S. Highway 40 in Kansas City, Blue Ridge Crossing is a redevelopment project on the site of the former Blue Ridge Mall, which was demolished in 2005. The center’s other tenants include a Wal-Mart Supercenter.
“We are very pleased because Lowe’s is an outstanding retailer and will only add to the success and momentum of this center,” Dave Horn, development director of Blue Ridge Crossing, said in a release.
According to the release, the success of Blue Ridge Crossing’s current retailers is leading to the opening of two new phases of the center.
The former Blue Ridge Cinema with a prominent location on I-70 will be demolished to make room for pad sites. In addition, a vacant parcel west of Lowe’s will be opened for development.
